1. China
 
China is the largest cotton producer with an annual output of 6841593 metric tons of cotton. Cotton is a major commercial crop in China. In 24 of China's 35 provinces, nearly 300 million people participate in cotton production, and 30% of the total sown area is used for cotton cultivation.
