The global chemicals outlook, released by the United Nations Environment Programme, points out that

The chemical risk of the industry ranked third in the consumer category, belonging to the high-risk chemical industry.

The annual output of textile chemicals has reached 6 million 400 thousand tons, of which 45% are consumed by China, ranking first in the world.

The risk of chemicals in China's textile industry can not be ignored, whether from risk regulation or quantity.

"The core objective of the 2020 program of action for innovation in the management of chemicals in textile supply chain" is to establish a chemical risk prevention and control system, and the construction of enterprise's chemical management capability is the core content of achieving this goal.

At the launch of the 2016 textile "supply chain chemicals management innovation 2020 program of action" project, held in Shengze, Jiangsu in July 20th, Yan Yan, deputy director of the China Textile Information Center, briefed the participants on the work plan and detailed description of the program of action.

Control and use of chemicals requires multiple efforts.

It is understood that the event was co sponsored by China Textile Industry Federation and ZDHC foundation, attracting international from NKIE, PUMA, H&M, INDITEX, C&A and so on.

More than 200 people attended the meeting, including relevant responsible persons, relevant government departments, trade associations, experts, industry media and so on.

At the meeting, Mr. ZDHC, director of Asia region, led you to review the progress of ZDHC in recent years.

She said that environmental protection is getting more and more attention in industrial development. For the textile industry, chemicals management has become an important link in production and management, and is an important part of sustainable development.

"Cooperation is the key. It is far from enough to control harmful chemicals only by the most downstream brands. We hope to join more stakeholders, such as manufacturers, chemical suppliers and third party service providers.

A sustainable chemical supply chain can be widely implemented in order to protect the interests of consumers, workers and the environment.

According to Lin, ZDHC has 22 brand names, 5 value chain members and 4 supporting members.

"The construction of China's standard system is very complicated. The conflicts between similar standards of multi interest entities often bring unnecessary costs and troubles to the supply chain.

In the field of chemicals management and control, it is a very difficult task to promote dialogue, coordination and integration between the government, industry and supply chain in this regard, and requires the common wisdom and strength of all parties. "

Yan Yan pointed out.

Kevin Munn, a project officer of the United Nations Environment Programme, also suggests that textile enterprises need to exchange information about chemicals in products, so that enterprises can have a better understanding of chemical information and take relevant measures.

Brands need to work hard to strengthen management of upstream enterprises.

Driven by increasingly stringent environmental regulations and non-governmental environmental organizations, as well as the requirements of sustainable development strategy, some well-known brands and retailers began to strengthen the chemical management of supply chain.

In the past year, PUMA, Adidas and Nike jointly analyzed the emission of wastewater from nearly 100 suppliers according to the ZDHC standard. It was found that the standard water quality of COD and BOD reached 78%, and 11 was detected at different levels in the list of hazardous substances stipulated by ZDHC, of which the detection rate of benzene and perfluorinated compounds was higher.

"Effluent quality should be determined with a uniform expectation, which not only limits the limits of conventional wastewater parameters, but also includes the present value of harmful chemicals."

Niu Lei, head of puma, said that the upstream suppliers' water control work requires not only the factory to avoid using chemicals, but also to ensure that the waste water has been properly disposed before discharging the plant or discharged to a well run centralized wastewater treatment center.

Li, director of Beijing Lining sporting goods Co., Ltd., commentate the problems in the ZDHC chemical management audit. He believes that in the chemical management of the textile industry, we need to know and familiarise ourselves with the specialized talents who are knowledge-based and familiar with the chemicals, textile prohibited substances, emission regulations and management requirements.

In order to achieve the coordination and unification of chemical environmental risk management requirements, systems and capacity building in the textile and garment industry, we should conduct research and innovation action guide, and explore effective mechanisms and platforms for stakeholders' communication and cooperation. We will work together to promote the supply chain chemicals control action to reduce the negative impact of the textile industry on the environment and human health, so as to promote the textile industry's "green" development goals in 13th Five-Year.

The action plan is mainly carried out in five aspects: technological innovation, standard integration, stakeholder cooperation, capacity building and information sharing.

ZDHC:ZDHC is the zero emission organization of hazardous chemicals launched by six leading brands of Adidas, Nike, Puma, Lining and so on in 2011. It aims to promote the establishment of the zero emission Organization (ZDHC) of the hazardous chemicals Zero (ZDHC) by six leading brands such as Adidas, Nike, Puma and Lining. It aims to promote the research and practice of sustainable chemicals in the textile and footwear industry to protect consumers, workers and the environment, and promises to achieve zero emissions of hazardous chemicals by 2020.

Today, ZDHC has 22 contracting brands, 5 value chain members and 4 supporting members.
