Luxottica, A Spectacle Manufacturer, Sued BCBG For Infringement

The world's largest glasses manufacturer Luxottica Group SpA (MTA: LUX; NYSE:LUX) Lu Xun TCA group has filed a lawsuit against the fashion company BCBG Max Azria Group LLC in the United States, suing the company for violating the brand name of Ray-Ban, the group's well-known brand.



On Wednesday, Luxottica Group SpA Lu Xun TCA group was in the Central District Court of California, hoping to prevent BCBG Max Azria Group LLC from selling "copycat" suspected of infringing Wayfarer trademark by litigation.

According to the indictment of Luxottica Group SpA Lu xuntai card group, the Italy group said that BCBG Max Azria Group LLC, an American company, sold confusing products to consumers under unauthorized circumstances, which seriously damaged the company's reputation and goodwill, which caused irreparable damage to the company's business.

Therefore, Italian company hopes to sue American companies to stop selling infringing products by litigation, and to compensate for losses of Luxottica Group SpA Lu Xun ladder group.

Ray-Ban Wayfarer trademark was registered by intellectual property rights by Bausch & Lomb Inc. (BOL:US) in 1954.

Ray-Ban Ray-Ban eyeglasses was acquired by Italian company in 1999 after being acquired by Italian company. The intellectual property right fell into the hands of the SpA Group SpA LXXX group. Bausch & Lomb Inc. was also acquired by Canadian pharmaceutical giant Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, Inc. (Pharmaceuticals) in 2013, and became an independent business with an annual turnover of $3 billion 500 million.

As for BCBG Max Azria Group LLC, founded in 1989 by Tunisian designer Max Azria, the group is one of the largest private fashion groups in the United States. However, due to the huge debt of the group, it has been pmitted to creditors by Guggenheim Partners.
